Native Plant Connection is a small, woman-owned business that focuses on custom grown, site specific contract grown plants.  We also provide expertise and plants to the landscaping community and native plant enthusiasts.  We have decades of experience in propagating native plants, restoration ecology, soil science, and restoration project management. 

Our nursery is nestled in the mountains, east of San Diego, above 3500 feet in elevation.  This strategic location provides us the opportunity to grow exceptionally hardy coastal sage scrub and chaparral specimens.  We also produce hardy plants for desert and montane environs as well.  Our knowledge and adaptable facilities can provide the perfect growing regimen to maximize your project success!

As restoration ecologists, we know your plants!  We have extensive experience with Southern California's ecosystems, including wetland, coastal, upland, montane and desert plant communities. We are active in the ecology field in Southern California full time and are exposed to the latest techniques and criteria for successful habitat restoration. 

Our plants are grown with low maintenance in mind. We use containers that offer a high root to shoot ratio which provides the plant with the ability to support itself with fewer nutrients and soil moisture than plants grown in typical nursery containers. We have been researching container size, soil mixtures and irrigation techniques for over 12 years and while we do occasionally make modifications to our techniques, they have been proven effective in the field.
